Bat Rules

West Raleigh will follow the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth bat rules as below.

**Check with other leagues for their bat restrictions (middle school, travel, high school, legion).**

Bats-Starting on January 1, 2018 all Leagues, with the exception of the MCP league, must comply with the new USA Baseball bat standard. All bats in all leagues must bear the USABat licensing mark to be permissible for League and All-Star tournament play

If the illegal bat is discovered prior to a batter completing his "at bat" the bat is simply removed from play and the "at bat" continues.

A player who uses an illegal bat or non-conforming barrel dimension and hits a fair ball will be ruled out. No advancement on the bases will be allowed, and any outs during the play shall stand. This is an appeal play. The "at bat" will be considered legal once a pitch is thrown to the next batter.

Any bat discovered prior to the game that does not conform to the above rule shall be directed to be removed immediately and not be allowed for use during the game.

13-15 BASEBALL DIVISION (Junior Select)

There are no restrictions from West Raleigh Baseball on the use of bats by Junior Select Teams for travel ball tournaments. It is the coaches, players and parents responsibility to understand the bat rules for each sanctioning body in which they play tournaments. However, when practicing on West Raleigh fields, only BBCOR and Wood bats are permitted.
